Get ur freak on.

The Folsom Street Fair was this past Sunday in San Francisco. For those unfamiliar, the Folsom Street Fair is a sex positive celebration of EVERYTHING kinky, with a particular focus on bondage and leather. Oh yeah, and there is lots and lots of nudity. If there was ever a place to show off your new cock ring or ball-torture device, this is most definitely it. Thankfully for all those with exposed genitalia, the sun was out in full force for an unprecedented 90 degree beautiful San Francisco day. Not so much fun, I'm guessing, for those wearing latex bodysuits. And while there was little shade to be found, there was plenty of beer.

I of course was taking as many pictures as I could. With each beer, I got a little bolder with my lens. Tranny cover band "Pepperspray" proved to be an interesting subject as they butchered, err... cranked out inspired takes on classic tunes. It was kind of amazing to see thousands of people so completely unashamed of just how freaky they could be. Pretty much if you can imagine it, there is someone out there who is into it. OK, you've been warned. Pictures are below.

Bernal Heights bliss.

Alas, our visit to the Alemany Flea Market last Sunday did not yield any switchblades, irresistibly awesome vinyl records, or mid-century modern side chairs... We did, however, walk away with some used dvds, a vintage Missoula, MT postcard, and a yellow orchid I'll no doubt kill in a couple weeks time. Our best find of the day though was the neighborhood that hosts this junk-fest, Bernal Heights. Located just south of the Mission and nestled snugly between 280 and the 101, Bernal Heights is just about the cutest damn place you've ever seen. A little off the beaten path, Bernal Heights is the San Francisco neighborhood we've been waiting to discover. You will surely not find a tourist or a cable car here. What you will find is lesbian bars, meat markets, book stores, neighborhood restaurants, and tons and tons of dogs. As we explored the hilly streets, we were filled with the same elation as when we first discovered Jersey City. Almost without speaking, we both came to the same conclusion, "We must live here." You could say we found our Rushmore. Until Bernal Heights came along, we were quite happy with our digs in Russian Hill. But the grass is always greener, isn't it? Well in this case there is just a lot more of it. Dog havens Bernal Heights Hill and Holly Park, who could resist? So we've got 8 months left on our lease, then its time to pack the u-haul one more time.

Labor Day.

Every time I do it, I swear I'll never do it again. But then summer comes and I get the itch. I must make pulled pork again! There is something about making pulled pork yourself that makes it sooo much better. Or maybe I'm just the grillmaster. Who knows? But all I can say is that getting up at 5am to get these babies going was well worth it. And the homemade sauce (ummm, with pulverized bacon) wasn't too bad either.

Oh yeah, there was other food too. First BBQ in SF: Success!

Money shot.

Quite possibly the best photo I've ever taken...

Sunset in SF.

Awesome lighting on our roof deck the at sunset the other day.

Berkeley.

Roughing it.

We went camping along the Yuba River in Scotts Flat, CA. 90 degree weather, Bud Light, and Jim Bean made sure we had an amazing time.

Mmmmm campfire breakfast...

Hiking the Yuba... One of the most beautiful places I've seen in CA so far

SOMA.

Stop and smell the roses.

Literally. The Rose Garden in Golden Gate Park.
